Garden House

Our next open house event will be from Thursday 23rd-Thursday 30th September 2021. Like the Chelsea Flower Show, we’ve decided to delay our next, long-anticipated event from May until the Autumn season, so that we can welcome more visitors inside our carefully curated townhouse and garden. Our idea is to create an experience that’s reminiscent of the village flower show, where prize-winning fruit and vegetables sit alongside other fresh garden produce such as honey and eggs, lovingly displayed. Art and objects with a primitive folk or utilitarian slant will also be on sale as will my choice of trees in pots, plants in galvanised containers and fencing and surfacing materials for adding structure, height and interest to a small town garden. I have specially commissioned Nick to paint a series of oils on panels of root vegetables and I’ve already started collecting up interesting pieces of gardenalia to sell. The event will also coincide with the re-launch of our Ryland, Peters and Small book on life at Walnuts Farm and I’ll be serving a simple seasonal garden soup and salad and doing a little talk on making small garden spaces productive and full of life to those who might find this helpful. We do so hope you’ll be able to join us. For more information email
